Alzheimers disease

I have Masters degree in Analytical Chemistry from Uppsala University (2009-2011). During my Masters thesis, I worked with the development of methods for the extraction of proteins, especially membrane proteins from the brain tissue and analyzing them using mass spectrometry. In-depth studies on the variation of protein profiles in the brain could provide us with the valuable insights into various neurological disorders.
Currently I am working with Berzelli centre, to identify a panel of biomarker candidates during Alzheimer’s disease using mass spectrometry. The alterations in the protein levels in the disease condition, compared to that of the healthy patients might provide us with valuable leads that can serve as prognostic and diagnostic biomarkers. Berzelii centre provided me with a unique opportunity to collaborate with researchers from both academia and industry having broad range of expertise in various fields.
